Special Celebrations

Commissioning of Catechists

Each September, our parish joins with parishes around the United States in celebrating Catechetical Sunday. We ask God’s blessing on all who provide leadership for the faith journeys of children, youth and adults.

Mass for Deceased Parishioners

Each November, at a Saturday Vigil Mass, we pray for those parishioners who have died since the previous All Souls Day. During the entrance rite as each person’s name is read aloud a family member or friend places a lighted candle near the Paschal Candle.

Evening Prayer / Wedding Anniversaries

In January, couples who will celebrate 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 or more years of marriage that year are invited to come together for Evening Prayer (Vespers) which is followed by a reception with cake and champagne.

Commissioning of Liturgical Ministers

Liturgical ministry is a service performed in the name of the Church. Liturgical ministers are formally commissioned for this service at one of our Sunday Masses. New ministers are commissioned during the year. Ministers are asked to renew their commitment to service each year usually at Pentecost.
