Special gifts, especially year end gifts helps our parish meet both its ordinary and extraordinary needs. For many people, the donation of appreciated stock is a way of supporting the work of the church, which has significant tax advantages to the donor. For information on gifts of stock, look at the STOCK TRANSFERS page on the diocesan web site.
One of the ways a parishioner can continue to support the work of the church even after one’s death is by remembering the church in one’s will.
For wills and bequests, the official bequest language is:
“I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the Roman Catholic Bishop of San Jose, a (California) corporation sole, [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for
[state purpose, such as:]
Sacred Heart Parish in Saratoga for its unrestricted use and purpose or
Sacred Heart Parish for its parish school endowment or
Sacred Heart Parish for its youth ministry endowment or
Sacred Heart Parish for its church endowment
